Biography

RAMON ARROYO. Dominican Artist, born in Santo Domingo on October 1, 1948. He studied at La Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes, Painting, Drawing and Sculpture, 1963-1967. Teachers were Peter G. Villena, Marianela Jimenez, Leopoldo Perez, Gilberto Hernandez Ortega, Domingo Liz and others.

RAMON ARROYO. Dominican Artist, born in Santo Domingo on October 1, 1948. He studied at La Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes, Painting, Drawing and Sculpture, 1963-1967. Teachers were Peter G. Villena, Marianela Jimenez, Leopoldo Perez, Gilberto Hernandez Ortega, Domingo Liz and others.

In 1971 he was selected a watercolor work of Ruin of San Francisco for the cover of the phone book, the first in this series of work. Participated in several group exhibitions and in November 1981 had his second individual in the Dominican American Institute entitled ¨ Expression 81st, his first solo exhibition in 1969 at the Hotel Jaragua. In 1971 Arroyo painting acquires a definite and personal style, depicting the rural life, the folklore of his country. During this time of the 70 states Ramón Arroyo their works in the United States and South America. And in the 80 works are appreciated by critics and collectors of the two Americas.

In the 90's he began his travels in Europe ........

He died in Santo Domingo, on the 1st. March 2005.
